A short résumé
I got an early start in advertising design in Dallas, Texas. I started out selling art when I was 15 and not very many years later ended up working as a designer for the city of Dallas, and on the side, as a free-lance illustrator. I later accepted an offer to work for a publisher in Oxford. I returned to England (I was born there) and got deeply involved in book design and book production. Four years later I co-founded RD Studio (1994), a design studio now based in Seattle and London that specializes in book design and various forms of package design.

During the above time my clients have included industry leaders such as MicroSoft, AOL, Coca-Cola, and the world's top ad agencies and publishers such as Barons, Columbia University Press, Cornell University Press, C&T Publishing, DDB Needham Worldwide, Glencoe, Guthy-Renker, Harcourt Brace, Henry Holt & Co, Lintas, McGraw-Hill, Scholastic Magazine, and Ten Speed Press. My work has also appeared in many magazines, including HOW, Popular Science, and HomePC. I am also author of several books including: Self-Publish the Easy Way and Advanced Book Design.
