Although Mushka (Mojgan) grew up in the U.K. where I met her, she is
of Persian and Russian-Turkmenistan ancestry. I've always been interested in Persian art, even before meeting her, and here I have painted her as a Persian Qajar princess in a pose that is a homage to a large and wellknown portrait by the "Shirin painter" (circa 1845).
